Boat Dares is an experimental duo from Portland, Maine consisting of Dylan Jarrell (drums) and Sean Ahern (accordion, synthesizers, guitar) formed in 2017 that play an eclectic and irreverent blend of klezmer, jazz, psychedelic rock, and whatever else they happen to be into at the time. Recently rated as one of the top 20 underground bands in New England by the Boston Hassle, this ragtag and precocious duo of longtime balding best friends has traversed most of the United States and most recently released two albums in 2019, with the first volume being described as
At its best, Borscht Belt Volume 1 feels like a set of outtakes from Tom Waits’ mid-career freakout masterpiece, Swordfishtrombones. At its worst, it’s the sound of two musicians who couldn’t care less what you think. God bless these fucking weirdos.
They Called Me Legion
Starting as a two piece in 2010 Richie Russell and Zach Thompson began creating what would become They Called Me Legion. They Called Me Legion is Indie rock infused with punk.
