Bangor’s OG Improv Group.
The Focus Group was birthed in January 2009 when a group of like-minded friends decided to venture into the realm of improvisational comedy, focusing on their version of The Harold. Not a man named Harold, though they’re often oddly attractive, but the long-form improvisational structure created by Del Close in Chicago and named “Harold”. Since then we have performed in a number of venues, including New Year’s Eve Downtown Countdown celebrations at the Bangor Opera House and 58 Main, the Portland Improv Festival, Verve in Orono, Johnson Hall in Gardiner, Monmouth’s historic Cumston Hall and – of course – our home stage at the Bangor Arts Exchange.
